* There were two churches named Holy Trinity in Louisville in this era, one in St. Matthews (which was NOT part of Louisville yet) as listed, and the other in Germantown-Paristown, built just a bit earlier than the St. Matthews one. THIS Holy Trinity changed its name to St Therese when they built the beautiful new church 1907. This Holy Trinity was just a few blocks from the then new St. Vincent de Paul, but the population was enough to have another neighborhood church. Any researchers who need mainly German-American Catholic records might need to write to St. Therese for old Holy Trinity records.
To add to the confusion - St. Therese is in cluster with St. Elizabeth and Holy Family. And, no one ever answers any of those phones (plus the number in the phone book is in fact the Fax number; one needs a bulletin to get the right phone number.) But hopefully, if someone writes to the church address, the letter will go to the volunteer who does look-ups for a fee.
